Broccoli’s freshness maintained by packing in ice

Broccoli is harvested twice a year in spring and fall/winter. Spring broccoli is soft and very nutritious, while fall/winter broccoli is sweet because it grows slowly while storing its sugar content. Broccoli is harvested in the early morning to maintain freshness and shipped packed in ice.
