Noto Oshimizu Flowering Trees and Shrubs

Enjoy the Beauty of Noto’s Plants and Flowers through All Four Seasons

The Oshimizu district of Hodatsushimizu Town, at the base of the Noto Peninsula, is known as a producer of sangomizuki Siberian dogwood and other plants popular for both ikebana and western-style flower arrangement. Today, the area is known for Noto Oshimizu Flowering Trees and Shrubs: many different varieties of ornamental plants grown for use of their leaves or branches, sometimes even with berries attached, taking advantage of the unique local climate.

Ordinarily, these sorts of plants are grown on sloped land, but this is one of the few places in Japan that uses flat paddy fields for it. The area boasts a stable production system, able to offer tremendous variety in beautiful plants through all four seasons, particularly beloved within the western Japan market.
